Is my skink male or female?
Blue Tongue skinks are hard to sex. When blue tongues are about a year old you may be able to visual sex. You take a birds eye photo of your skink. Based off head shape,body, and tail length you can get an educated guess.
How long should I wait to handle my new skink?
It's best to give them time to get accustomed to their new enclosure and surroundings. I recommend to wait a full week. During the first week it's beneficial to sit outside the enclosure. It will get your new baby used to seeing you. You can work on hand/tong feeding during this time.
Can I house more than 1 blue tongue in an enclosure?
Experienced keepers have done it successfully. It is not recommended. Most cases cause problems and damage to animals.
Is all canned grain free dog food the same? Recommended brand?
No there is a wide range of qualities. The ingredients tell it all. You want to look for meat as the first ingredient. I avoid spinach and potatoes. I recommend Nature's logic or Wellness core. They have great ingredients. There food isn't soupy like others.
